The 'Gossip Girl' star took to social media to post a photo taken at Ryan Reynolds' birthday bash in New York City.

The caption on Instagram reads, "@_o_ya_ We fell in love at your restaurant in Boston. We stay in love at your restaurant in NY. Thank you for the BEST food and memories! You are our FAVORITE!! Another happy birthday with @vancityreynolds. Hey, Reynolds, I like you a whole lot. Just sayin'..."

College friendship influences an individual academically and socially

The article by Janice McCabe served as a precursor to her upcoming book, "Connecting in College: How Friendship Networks Matter for Academics and Social Success".

Previous studies on the importance of peers have examined the broader role that peers play in student life, often focusing on their social influence, whereas, this study examines: individual friendships a college, how students benefit academically and socially from such networks, and how such networks reflect a student's race and class.

50 percent of smokers do not always focus on tobacco cessation: Study

WashingtonD.C. [US], Oct. 26 : A recent research conducted at the University of British Columbia has found that half of the statements made by smokers during counseling sessions that are designed to help them stop, have nothing to do with quitting.

The study, which focused on conversations smoking cessation, also found that the remaining 50 percent of statements that did relate to quitting mostly focused on medical aids such as smoking cessation drugs, nicotine patches or inhalers.

Adolescents are more prone to take online risks, as compared to adults

Washington.D.C [US], Oct. 26 : According to a recent research conducted by the University of Plymouth, adolescents are more likely to take online risks, regardless of the gamble involved.

The study, led by Claire White was carried out to explore the psychological mechanisms underpinning why teenagers are more likely to take risks online when compared to young adults.

The study gave adolescents (aged 13-17) and young adults (aged 18-24) the same online quiz gambling scenario, framed in two different ways - one highlighting what could be won and one highlighting what could be lost.

After dealing with both scenarios, the overall results showed adolescents demonstrated the riskier behaviour.

Surgery could escalate trouble among terminally ill cancer patients

Washington D.C. [US], Oct. 26 : Patients with disseminated advanced cancer who undergo surgery are far more likely to endure long hospital stays and readmissions, referrals to extended care facilities and death, found a recent research.

The study highlights the dilemma that physicians and surgeons face when their terminally ill cancer patients are diagnosed with a condition that may benefit from surgery, such as bowel obstruction, as well as the need for substantive discussions about the risks of surgery and implications on future quality of life.
