Rahul Gandhi woos Mizo youth ahead of polls
Aizwal (Mizoram), Nov 22 : Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has promised to develop Mizoram in a bid to woo the youth of the State
Addressing a public meeting here on Friday Gandhi said: "We should try and develop Mizoram the way it should. It will be a government that will look after the poor in Mizoram and most importantly it will work with youth to ensure a bright future for Mizoram."
He also described remote states as being equally important for the development of the country.
"I think all states, no matter how big, how small are equally important in India," Gandhi said.
Over 611,000 voters will elect candidate to the 40 member State Assembly on December 2. Counting is due to take place on December 8.
The Election Commission has set up 1026 polling stations for the elections.
The main contest is between the Mizo National Front (MNF), which is contesting 39 seats, and the Congress party, which is in fray for all 40 seats. (ANI)
