It seems that the big corporates these days do not hesitate to invest big money for the production of Bhojpuri films. Mahindra and Mahindra, entertainment arm, Mumbai Mantra, is all set to come up with 10 films over the next one year. These would include five Hindi, one English/Hollywood and four regional titles. The media company under the regional titles is all set to release two Bhojpuri films.

Speaking on this with media persons, Vikramjit Roy, an official of Mumbai Mantra, said, “Yes, we are producing Bhojpuri films. The company has joined hands with Yashi Films to co-produce such films.” The company’s joint venture latest flick Hum Hain Bahubali (directed by Prakash J ha’s assistant Anil Ajitabh) was released across 150 theatres on October 2. 

“We expect our first project to take Bhojpuri cinema to new levels of excellence. With Hum Hain Bahubali, we also anticipate a significant rise in the audience base of these films,” says Andrey Purushottam, CEO, Mumbai Mantra. 

Besides, Mumbai Mantra some media reports also suggest that ADAG promoted, Reliance Entertainment, is also planning to invest heavily for the production of Bhojpuri films in the future.

It’s not that Bhojpuri films are watched only in some pockets of the country, but today they boast to have their audience in all parts of the world. Today, Bhojpuri superstar Ravi Kissen has good fan following in Europe, Australia, Mauritius and South Africa.
