Pak Taliban warn pro-govt tribe in Bajaur Agency to stop co-operating with govt
Peshawar, Sept 5: The Pakistani unit of Taliban, the Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) has reportedly warned a pro-Pakistan Government tribe in the Bajaur Agency to stop co-operating with the government or face militant action.
According to sources in the Salarzai Tribe, Bajaur Agency Taliban commander Faqir Muhammad last evening warned them (Salarzai Tribe) to stop co-operating with the government or face militant action.
The tribe has formed a lashkar (a private volunteer army), which set fire to 18 houses of local Taliban commanders in the agency’s Salarzai tehsil in the past few days, reported the Daily Times.
The lashkar had also warned anyone caught sheltering militants will be fined Rs one million, and that his house would be torched.
Locals said militants had been expelled from the Kasai, Pusht, Chelagam, Danqun and Kotki areas, following the formation of the lashkar. (ANI)
