Kathmandu, June 21 : Senior leaders of Seven Parties Alliance (SPA) will today resume their consultation to end the political deadlock.

Nepalnews quoted Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) leader Bhim Rawal as saying that the issues being contested include power-sharing, who gets to become president, among others.

Rawal said that the seven party meeting will also study the draft understanding prepared by the taskforce of the seven parties on issues of constitution amendment.

A day after the Maoist ministers tendered their joint resignation at the seven party meeting, the party leaders are staring at worsening, rather than improving, deadlock.

The increasing warmth between the UML and the Maoists has also angered the Nepali Congress (NC) spoiling the attempts to reach consensus.

Meanwhile, former general secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) Madhav Kumar Nepal said that efforts should continue to strengthen the unity among major political parties.

Amid reports that Nepali Congress (NC) was feeling left out following understanding between the UML and the Maoists to support each other in power-sharing, Nepal said that the need of the hour is to take Nepali Congress on board.

After inaugurating a health camp here, Nepal said further political crises would emerge if Nepali Congress is isolated.

He also said that he has no information about reports that his name is being pushed by his party for the position of president. (ANI)
