Ritual for environment purification in Bhopal

Bhopal, June 3: Hundreds of people gathered here to perform the 'Agnihotra' or 'Homa Therapy' which seeks to purify the contaminated environment.

The organiser 'Madhavji Sansthan' claims that 'Agnihotra' is a 'scientific' process of purification of the atmosphere leading to an unparalleled purifying and healing.

The process of 'Agnihotra' consists of making two offerings to the fire exactly at the time of sunrise and sunset along with the chanting of two small Sanskrit mantras.

The people performed 'Agnihotra' offering of two pinchfuls of uncooked rice grains smeared with clarified butter made from cow's milk to the fire made out of dried cow dung cakes in a small copper pot of semi-pyramid shape.

"Conducting this ritual one time destroys about 96 per cent of microbes in a room. It has been proved scientifically and researches are being conducted in India and abroad on 'Agnihotra'," said Nalini Madhav, an organiser.

"'Agnihotra' balances the cycle of nature and nourishes the human life. It creates pure, clean and medicinal atmosphere and also cleanses the negative effects of pollution," he added.

'Madhavji Sansthan' has been working in the city for past 40 years to create awareness amongst people towards environment. (ANI)
