J-K villagers fleeing their homes post surgical strikes
Akhnoor (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Oct. 6 : In wake of the escalating tension between India and Pakistan post the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army on September 29, local residents in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir are extremely worried and fear for their safety following the consistent ceasefire violations and shellings from across the border.
People are moving out of their villages and are facing trouble due to lack of facilities and other basic necessities.
"How long will we be displaced? Relatives can't keep us for very long," said a villager.
"We have left our cattle, crop and life behind. But now war like situation is created and there must be an end to this as well," said another villager.
Last week, Pakistan violated the ceasefire in the Pallanwala sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Akhnoor sector.
Yesterday, fresh ceasefire violations by Pakistan were reported in Gigriyal, Channi and Planwala areas of Akhnoor. (ANI)
