Interactive session takes place between British astronaut Tim Peake and City of Norwich School students
An interactive session was conducted between students of City of Norwich School and British astronaut Tim Peake. The session, which took place yesterday, saw the 10 curious youngsters asking varied question from Peake as he passed 250 miles overhead aboard the International Space Station.
Student and amateur radio enthusiast Tim Hare, 15, were given the task to establish contact with the ISS using the specially designated call sign. After a few seconds, the connection was obtained and students were able to hear the muffled voice of Major Peake, 43. He appeared to be floating on screen.
The session was quite short as the students were having just 10 minutes to ask selected questions. During the session, Peake unveiled that he is not able to have dreams since the time he has come to space. He started his mission on December 15, 2015.
Peake’s favorite locations to look down upon were Africa and north Canada. He was travelling at 17,500mph aboard the ISS during the transmission. He concluded by saying, “It has been wonderful speaking to everyone in Norwich this afternoon. Thank you for these wonderful questions”.
City of Norwich School was one of the 10 schools across the nation that has won the chance to speak to Major Peake. After the session ended, Peake said that he was quite impressed with students and found the session to be nice and interesting experience. Peake added that he had a nice experience talking to students and hopes they also had an interesting conversation.
