14-Year-Old Boy Pulled Out a Four-Inch Long Centipede from His Ear

Fourteen-year-old Grant Botti is now doing well and is recovering well after pulling a centipede from his ear. Botti a Bryant resident was asleep when pain in his ear woke him up. The boy after waking up tried to find out what was causing pain in his ear and he pulled out a four-inch long centipede from his ear.

According to KARK, Grant Botti grabbed the centipede by the tail and pulled it slowly out from his ear. Botti’s mother Angela kept the centipede in a plastic bag and immediately took the teen to hospital near their home in Saline, Arkansas, KATV reported.

The hospital authorities said the teen was treated for small abrasions near his eardrum before he was discharged. Doctors bandaged the ear and said the boy will very soon make a full recovery.

Doctors and nurses said they have seen people coming to hospital with different sorts of things in their ear, but they never came across a case of centipede in ear.

No other damage happened to his physical health, though some species of the creatures have a venomous bite that can be lethal to humans.

So far, it is not clear how the centipede entered the teen’s ear. But it is clear that the boy must have had an excruciating pain due to the legs and antennas.

Botti told that he felt as if something was moving around inside his ear canal. And when he investigated and pulled it out it was a 10 centimeters or roughly 4 inches long centipede, which was still alive.

The news of centipede’s invasion of Botti’s ear canal went viral on social media sites and across the world.

Botti has stated that he is not sure about where exactly he was when the centipede made its way into his ear. But he said he had been swimming lately, and the creature might have entered his ear while he was swimming.
