Halliburton to create 800 jobs in SingaporeA Leading American energy services firm, Halliburton has opened a new manufacturing centre for completion tools in Singapore.

The world's second-largest oil and gas equipment maker has indicated that its new plant is likely to create a total of about 800 jobs in the island nation this year.  The new Completion Technology and Manufacturing Center is a part of the company's first phase of its expansion plans in Singapore.  The company's Completion Tools leadership team and global headquarters had moved to the city state from Houston, Texas in 2011.

Dave Lesar, Halliburton chairman and CEO said, "Investment in this technology and manufacturing facility is a demonstration of Halliburton's commitment to strengthen our position in international markets where we are seeing expanding opportunities in deep water, mature assets and unconventional resources development."

The Completion Technology and Manufacturing Center will be located at Jurong Industrial Parkand will span over 500,000 sq ft.  The centre will house manufacturing, administration and lab facilities for the completion tools business.

Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, who was the chief guest at the facility's opening ceremony, said that the new investment would bring diverse industries to the country and will create exciting new career options for the people in the city.  He also noted that the average remuneration per worker is S$62,000 in the oil and gas equipment and services industry.
