Ten Network's new chief buys 3 million shares in the company

Ten Network's new chief buys 3 million shares in the companyHamish McLennan, the newly appointed chief executive officer of Ten Network, has purchased three million shares in the company to express his enthusiasm about the company.

The move to acquire three million shares in the company came after the channel's chief marketing officer Tony McMaster left the company just after the ouster of chief executive James Warburton. A company spokesperson has confirmed reports that Mr McMaster had left the company. Mr McMaster was the first chief marketing officer of the network and was appointed to the top job in March in the previous year.

Mr McLennan said, "As I indicated in the statement to market on Friday regarding my appointment, I believe Ten is a great business. As a sign of my enthusiasm for Ten, I have personally invested in the company. I look forward to sharing in the future success of Ten."

Some suggest that other senior management members are also about to follow suit and leave the troubled company. The company spokesperson also clarified that the marketing department will now report directly to chief programming officer Beverly McGarvey.

Ten chairman Lachlan Murdoch is the son of News Corp chairman Rupert Murdoch and is a member of the board of the News Corporation. Some reports suggest that the News Corporation might be looking to acquire Ten Network soon.
