Microsoft releases first TV commercial for Windows 8 OS
With Microsoft's newest software - Windows 8 operating system - scheduled for official launch on October 26, the company has recently released its first TV commercial for the much-awaited new OS version.
The short, 30-second TV commercial which Microsoft has released to kick off the forthcoming launch of Windows 8 OS can now be accessed through a blog post on the official Microsoft Windows blog, `Blogging Windows.'
Commencing with a countdown which is styled like that of a space shuttle, the opening portion of the Windows 8 commercial hints that Microsoft will apparently draw a parallel of the Windows 8 OS with a few of the most monumental technological events that have taken shape till now.
However, with the counter in the commercial stopping and repeating at the number eight, the first Windows 8 ad essentially comes across as a rather speedy, high-energy snapshot of the upcoming OS, giving the viewers a quick glimpse of the new software.
Marking a notable marketing push for the Windows 8 platform, the newly-released commercial substantiates an earlier report which cited an unnamed Microsoft executive to reveal that the company has earmarked "an unprecedented 10-digit dollar number" expenditure for its campaign of the new OS.
In addition, with a Thursday article on Forbes disclosing that Microsoft will probably spend $1.5 billion to $1.8 billion for marketing Windows 8 OS, TechCrunch's Matt Burns said that the OS' forthcoming release will be "the largest product launch in the history of the industry."
