McLaren dismiss reports suggesting scrapping of MP4-12C supercar
Automaker, McLaren Automotive has rubbished reports suggesting it is planning to stop production of its new McLaren MP4-12C supercar, which was first showcased at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2010.
The company is believed to he holding cars in the factory to make some fix the issues that troubled some of the early buyers of the supercar. The company is installing a software upgrade to fix various electrical glitches including over-sensitive warning lights and the battery draining.
The company is continuing to produce the models at a normal rate and they models will be released to customers within the next fortnight after the software upgrade has been completed. Company official has said that the company has sold more than 100 models to the customers and the problems have not affected all buyers.
The customers who already own the car will be able to get their software upgrade from their local dealership after the company finishes upgrading factory models.
