Peugeot and Maruti to Set Up Plant in GujaratA famous French car manufacturer – Peugeot is all set to set up its plants in the three states of India. For the same, a delegation of Peugeot led by Gregoire Olivier, CEO (Asia) and Fredric Faber, MD (India) held a meeting with Gujarat’s Chief Minister, Narendra Modi. It has been told that Gujarat is on the top in the priority list of Peugeot.

In the pursuit of maximizing its sales, Peugeot has been in negotiations with couple of state industry departments to set up its car manufacturing unit. Recently, it was reported that the delegates of Peugeot visited Dholera and Sanand in Gujarat. Besides Gujarat, the other two states that the company is negotiating with are Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

There have been rumors that Peugeot officials have already striked a deal in Gujarat. However, the officials have not commented upon it. However, the company said that it will be finalizing its deal in the next three to four months.

The sites where Peugeot is seeking to strike the deal are already occupied with car manufacturers of Ford and Tata. This year, the country’s largest car manufacturer Maruti also announced that soon it will be setting its plant in Gujarat.
