Toyota to Resume Its Production in IndiaOn Monday, the Japanese car company, Toyota, had announced that it will restart the normal production in India from May 20. The Deputy Managing Director (Commercial) for the Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), Shekar Viswanathan had told the PTI that the company is confident of resuming the normal operations earlier than expected.

Today’s scenario, consumes about 4 months in concern of waiting for the Etios and Fortuner whereas the current waiting period for Innova and Corolla Altis are 3 and I month, respectively. “We lost about 10,000 units of production across all models... Because of the production drop, the revenue loss was on an average Rs 6, 50,000 per vehicle”, Mr. Viswanathan explained further.

Additionally, the TKM Deputy Managing Director (Marketing) ,Sandeep Singh, said that the company is in the motion to launch the Etios Liva according to the schedule, in the last week of the June. The company’s production unit in Bangalore, which manufactures the Innova, Corolla Altis and Fortuner acquires caliber for the production of around 80,000 units per annum.

In addition to this, the company also credits honor for the trade of fully imported vehicles such as sedan Camry, SUVs Prado and Land Cruiser and hybrid car Prius in the country.
