Demand for Figo vrooming in India

Ford-FigoFord's prime executive of Asia expressed on Friday that Ford Motor Co. vended more machines in India in the previous six months than in the preceding year 2009.

Ford's group vice president for Asia Pacific and Africa operations, Joe Hinrichs expressed that the auto maker's sales burst in Asia which is the third biggest market was mainly a result of sturdy demand for its latest sensation Figo the compact car.

He added that the group has gathered approx 25,000 of orders in the first 100 days of the launch of Figo that has stroked the Indian dealerships in the month of March. At the moment the group has more demand for Figo than they can actually meet.

While the other auto makers painted up their showroom brochures contrasting their cars against the Figo, it depicted that the allies are well aware that Ford is out there now and this shall going to be a lot of new competition.

Further adding to the comments he expressed that India is now on velocity to sell approx 3 million light vehicles during this year as growth stays sturdy in spite of the price hike and drop in government spur measures.
