Hyundai faces labor issues, yet again
Already struggling to maintain peace at its Chennai unit, Hyundai Motors India has yet again hit a roadblock as a section of its workers have gone on a flash strike demanding the reinstatement over 60 employees dismissed last year on grounds of unruly practices.
While the union leaders were not available for comment, but the local police confirmed the development.
On the other end, the management at Hyundai said that the company has already reinstated almost 20 of the total 87 employees dismissed in December last on humanitarian grounds.
Notably, the company has been engaged in out of court settlement and has been able to reach at an agreement with a part of the dismissed workers. Notably, the company has been facing labor issues time and again at its Chennai unit and it has been struggling to maintain peace.
However, the company filed a 7% rise in its last month's unit sales due to the plant being closed for annual maintenance. With the recent labor issues, it is believed that it will hamper its growth even further.
