NTPC to invest Rs 55,000 crore in Orissa
The National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd. has announced that it will invest Rs55,000 crore in Orissa to generate additional 9320Megawatt power. The largest power generation company in the country, NTPC Ltd. has unveiled its ambitious investment plan in the capital of Orissa, Bhubaneswar. It has informed that the investment will be taken place during the 12th plan period.
Moreover the company is willing to generate additional capacity of 9,320 Megawatt from the State. It is planning to set up two new plants in Orissa. Apart from that it has also planned to expand its existing Talcher plant. This plant will be extended to produce 1320 Megawatt.
NTPC regional executive director for East and North IB Pandey has informed to the media at the state capital that the company will come up with two new plants in coming years. The location for these two projects will be Dadripali in Sundargarh district and Gajmara in the Dhenkanal-Angul belt. He has also said despite the limited coal sources in the state, NTPC will move further to generate more power.
