Car phone stolen from the car of Israeli police commissioner
It has been reported that thieves broke into a vehicle belonging to an Israeli police commissioner and stole his phone, but officials say it contained no sensitive numbers.
Ynetnews has reported that assailants smashed the windshield of Dudi Cohen's car parked in the central Israeli city of Givatayim Friday, but police say they doubt the thieves knew it was a police chief's vehicle.
Ynetnews also said that Cohen and his family were at home in a guarded apartment building when the car was broken into.
Authorities further said that violence against law enforcement personnel and judges has increased recently.
A Supreme Court judge was attacked with a shoe during a court session several months ago, and another judge's car was set on fire.
According to reports of Ynetnews, a senior judge received a threatening fax, saying: "Another judge must be murdered just as they murdered in the past. We will kill a judge with a . missile."
