Maruti Suzuki to charge more from the customers
Maruti Suzuki has said that it will be increasing the price of its vehicles. The decision comes after the automaker decided to pass on to the customers some of its increased costs.
The Maruti cars are now going to cost up to Rs. 10,000 higher. The company said in its statement that because of higher input costs and introduction of BS IV (emission) norms in some of its models, it is faced with high cost impact. The company is going to pass it on to the customers.
The decision is inline with the largest carmaker's earlier announcement, where it had said that because of hike in prices of steel and other inputs, it will be increasing the price of its vehicles soon.
And now, that the sales continue to boom despite the roll-back of stimulus package, it is going ahead with its plan.
As per the chart given by Maruti, A-Star hatchback will cost Rs. 1,000 more. Maruti 800 and Omni will be Rs. 3,000 costlier, while the Gypsy will see its price rise by Rs. 10,000.
The company's new five-seater multipurpose vehicle Eeco, will also see such a hike.
