Myspace is back
After a really tough year, the once leader in the social networking websapce, MySpace is all set for a complete overhaul of its website to lure more users. In its new form, MySpace has strengthened the music and media content features on the website.
Now the users will be able to share their music content and listen to music playlists created by other users.
Jason Hirschhorn, one of the co-president of MySpace said that the company is focusing on two way objectives with this revamping: first to get new users on the site and second get back the old users who are more frequent competitors social networking websites.
Hirschhorn also revealed that MySpace doesn't wants to remain to 100 million or 120 million users. The company is looking at having a userbase of 200 to 300 million. The major competitor facebook has an active user base of
400 million.
In January 2010, the total number of MySpace unique users was 119.6 million across the globe. This was a significant 7.4% lower than the figures in the month of January last year. However, the January figures were still a bit higher than the November numbers of MySpace which was 108.1 million.
