LG takes on Samsung, launches Cookie Pep @ Rs.7,500
To grab a better slice of the segment that is rocked by Samsung Corby, LG launched its Cookie Pep (GD510) in India at just Rs. 7,500.
A few months ago Samsung launched its Corby Pro and Corby plus in the same price range and it was highly appreciated by mid-price range users.
The 2G-supported handset comes with a 3-inch wide TFT resistive touchscreen that provides 256K colors at 240X400 pixels resolution. It is 97.8X49.5X11.2 mm in terms of dimensions. The handset weighs 87 grams.
The phone holds a strong camera of 3.15 megapixel that can capture up to a resolution of 2048X1536 pixels with out any problem. User can also capture video of 15 frames per second with the camera.
Among other features, this Java-based handset supports Class 12 GPRS and EDGE, but lacks 3G and WLAN though a micro-USB port is present for external connectivity. While the device has a 42 MB in-built memory, it can be extended up to 16 GB with help of a microSD card.
The company has signed Bollywood heartthrob John Abraham as the phone's brand ambassador.
