Penguin Books CEO John Makinson believes that in future, media device can replace the text-based publications. People are becoming more tech-centric. Hence e-books can be a possible and praiseworthy inclusion to this new era of information and technology.

Makinson commented about the technology overpowering the print market while he was addressing at FT's Digital Media & Broadcasting Conference in London. He has also shared some details of the future strategy of the company over its e-book initiative.

Makinson has anticipated that e-books can boost the book publishing industry. Such products will change the consumer's perception on books and will provide them a completely new interactive learning experience. On e-books, Makinson has revealed that the applications with embedded audio, video will arrive in the market soon. The contents will be reinvented as applications and then will be put on for sale in app stores and HTML.

However, Penguin has made a bold step to initiate such kind of experiment on books. And the readers will definitely get a chance to experience the new style of book-reading.
