BJP and Left indicated disruption if price rise is not discussed in Budget sessionWith an address by President Pratibha Patil to a joint sitting of both the Houses, the budget session of Parliament will commence from today.

As expected, the address will outline government''s plans and policies on key issues.

A discussion on the burning problem of rising prices have been demanded by the BJP, the Left and other parties on the first working day of the three-month long session.

In case the issue of price rise was not taken up for discussion on February 23, the BJP and the Left parties have indicated disruption of proceedings.

"If the government agreed to a debate on the issue on the first working day, there will be no disruption," opposition Leader Sushma Swaraj has said.

While the General Budget would be presented on February 26 the Railway Budget will be presented on February 24.
