Commercial Production of "Figo" Launched by Ford India
Even as the first ever Figo model rolled out of its assembly line recently, Ford India has announced that the domestic public launch of the eagerly awaited and much anticipated small car is all set to happen before the first quarter of the ongoing year.
Michael Boneham, President and Managing Director of Ford India, after rolling out the first ever vehicle, sounded an optimistic chime by saying that the complete vehicle production capacity of the manufacturing plant would be used up over the coming 5 to 6 years.
Production of the Ford Figo 1.2 liter petrol engine has been commenced by the company.
The automobiles manufacturer has said that it would be launching the 1.2 liter petrol and 1.4 liter diesel models of the Figo, and with the new production plant now operational, the engine capacity of Ford India is all set to go from the existing 60,000 to about 250,000 a year.
Although the price of the Figo has not been disclosed, the company has said that it would be "competitively priced".
