London's lord mayor to talk business in Delhi

Ian-Luder-Portrait-normalNew Delhi, Oct 21 Lord Mayor of London Ian David Luder will wrapup his week-long visit to India with a two-day stay in Delhi commencing Thursday.

"Delhi is crucial to India's expansion as a global economic powerhouse," said Luder in a press release issued by the British High Commission here.

Luder, accompanied by a business delegation, visited Hyderabad and Mumbai earlier this week.

"I look forward to sharing views on how London and the UK can help India build its future as a leading economy of the 21st century," he said.

He is scheduled to meet ministers and business leaders during his two-day Delhi stay.

As per the release, Luder will share UK's expertise on the corporate debt market and in the area of infrastructure finance.

Aware of India's target of $500 billion in infrastructure investment, Luder wants to show how "UK capital, public-private partnerships (PPP) and carbon-emissions trading expertise can contribute to India's infrastructure development". (IANS)
