England elects to bat first in fifth ODI against Australia England skipper Andrew Strauss has won the toss and elected to bat first in the fifth ODI match of the Nat West ODI series against Australia at Trent Bridge on Tuesday.

England is trailing in the series by 4-0 and they will be playing for pride as they have already lost the seven one-day international ODI series. England is playing without all-rounder P Collingwood and fast bowler J Anderson.

Paul Collingwood has been rested for three matches while Anderson was told to rest for two ODI matches and he will make comeback in the next ODI match. T Bresnan is playing in the match as a replacement for Anderson.

On the other side, Australian team will be looking to clean sweep England in the series to regain top spot in the ICC ODI rankings. Australian team is placed at third place in the latest ICC ODI ranking released on Tuesday.
