Three Australian Jumps To Their Carrier Best RankingsAn impressive batting performance by Australian batsmen in the first test match of the Ashes series against England has led three batsmen to jump to their career-best rankings in the latest ICC test rankings for batsmen.

Simon Katich, Marcus North and wicket-keeper Brad Haddin have scored tons in the first test match as Australia declared their first innings at 674-6, which resulted into big jumps in their test rankings.

Katich has moved to joint 14th place with Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar from 18th rank after scoring 122 runs in the first test match.

North, who scored unbeaten 125, has jumped to 43rd position up by 23 places while Haddin jumped six places to capture the 30th spot.

Australian skipper Ricky Ponting has also moved to six spot after scoring impressive 150 runs and the vice-captain Michael Clarke has overtaken South Africa captain Graeme Smith to be at the eighth place.

Paul Collingwood was the only batsmen for England who has climbed five spots to return in the top 20 position after scoring two half-centuries in the first test match against Australia.
