Crashed British Airways jet crew praised for safe landing
London, Jan. 19: The crew of the British Airways plane that crash-landed at London’s Heathrow Airport a couple of days ago, has been praised by the jet’s captain for the courage shown in averting a major mishap.
Captain Burkill said every member of his flight crew played a role in ensuring the plane’s safe landing at the airport, and credited his co-pilot John Coward for actually landing the plane and saving the lives of the 130 passengers onboard.
According to The Sun, the crew was given a huge round of applause on Friday during a press conference here.
Captain Burkill said the crew celebrated surviving the plane crash by going out for a curry.
British Airways staff cheered as the pilots, the plane's cabin services director Sharon Eaton-Mercer and BA chief executive Willie Walsh appeared at the airline's Heathrow headquarters for the brief statement from Burkill. (ANI)
