The 31-year-old actress revealed that she was shooting for film titled The Terrorist, where she and a 13-year-old actor had to swim through a fast-flowing river.
It was only when the director said "cut" that the actor, called Vishwas, revealed he could not swim and began to panic.
Without a second thought the 'Coronation Street' star jumped into action and saved him, however, she did broke her leg.
Despite being in pain, Dharker cling on to the youngster until help arrived.
For the entire shoot she was put on heavy medication.
"I was on painkillers and muscle-relaxants and things to keep me awake, so I was in a state of total desperation," the Mirror quoted her as saying.
"By the end I was looking into the mirror and splashing water in my face and thinking, 'Who's that?'" she added. (ANI)
