Shyness almost stopped Duffy from starting singing career
New Delhi, Feb 17: Welsh singer Aimee Anne Duffy has revealed how her shyness almost stopped her from starting her singing career.
Duffy, 24, who won the Best Pop Vocal Album prize for her debut LP ''Rockferry'' at this month''s Grammy Awards, said that she never thought of a career in music because as she was too shy, reports the China Daily.
"As a kid, I never wanted to be a singer - I was far too shy - but I needed a way of externalising my thoughts because I was always talking s**t. I used to be a good swimmer but I got picked on in the pool," she said.
The singer also revealed that she would like to swap her retro 60s sound, and make a more modern record, now that she has established herself on the world music scene.
"She is keen to explore a Mariah Carey or Christina Aguilera style of album. On the next record, Duffy can afford to be a bit more experimental now that she is assured her position as a singing force to be reckoned with," a source said. (ANI)
