Pakistan arrests 50 Indian fishermen

Karachi, PakistanKarachi, Feb. 6 : Pakistani authorities have arrested 50 Indian fishermen along with nine boats on charges of infiltrating its waters in the Arabian Sea.

"Indian fishermen have violated Pakistani territorial waters despite several warnings. We arrested them for the same reason. Nine boats were seized and 50 fishermen arrested," Pakistan's Maritime Security Agency (MSA) spokesperson Lieutenant Commander Shakil Khan said.

The arrested fishermen were handed over to Pakistan police by the MSA.

The detained fishermen would be produced before a court which would decide on their fate later, The Dawn reports. (ANI)
