US reports lowest inflation in 50 years

United StatesWashington - US government figures released on Friday showed that domestic inflation for 2008 was 0.1 per cent, the lowest figure in more than 50 years.

The US Labour Department said that monthly sales prices sank in December by 0.7 per cent. In November the sales prices receded by 1.7 per cent. (dpa)
