PCB hopes for brief ‘compensation’ tour by Australia in April

PCB hopes for brief ‘compensation’ tour by Australia in AprilKarachi, Dec, 25: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said that it hopes that the Australian team would be touring Pakistan in April next year.

PCB officials are hoping that Aussies would arrive for a brief `compensation' tour to play five one-day internationals.

"Aussies are scheduled to land in Pakistan on April 23," the News quoted chief operating officer of PCB Saleem Altaf, as saying.

Australia had postponed their tour of Pakistan earlier this year due to security concerns but promised to return later.

The PCB has high hopes that Australia would return to fulfill their promise. It has assured a special security cover for the kangaroos.

"Pakistan will offer VVIP security covers to the Australians," the News quoted Altaf, as saying.

Deprived of any test cricket this year, Pakistan is ready to host Australians on any neutral venue as well.

"PCB is also open to the option of playing the series at some offshore venue in case the Australians decide against touring Pakistan because of security apprehensions," Altaf said.
