No Question Of Resignation: Baalu
Minister for shipping, road transport and highways, T R Baalu said that he will not resign at any cost as per the demands of the opposition parties. According to Baalu his opponents wants to show him the door because he had completely supported the OBC reservation and the Sethu Samudram project.
Speaking with reporters Ballu said, "They are my well wishers. Since we are steadfast with the Sethu Samudram project and on the issue of OBC reservation, they are making such demands.”
Ballu belongs to the DMK party which is a key constituent of the present UPA government at the centre. He rebutted all the charges that Congress Party was trying to distance itself from the controversy. He said that he had done no wrong and his "family members are among the 40,000 small investors" of the companies and he had "only advised” Petroleum Minister Murli Deora.
Commenting against the remarks of Leader of Opposition Jaswant Singh Baalu said, "it is totally absurd...I am very sorry my friend (stooped) to that level. He has misled Parliament so I am very sorry".
In reply to another question the union minister said, “Parliament is not waiting for my statement. It is waiting for Petroleum Minister Murli Deora's statement.”
