New Delhi, Apr. 17 : The National Human Rights Commission has taken suo-motu cognizance of distressing news reports alleging that an 11 year old student Shanno Khan of M. C. D. Girls Primary School, Narela, had to be admitted to a hospital following punishment meted to her by the school teacher.

The Commission has said that the contents of the reports raise serious issues of human rights violation of the school girl and has asked the Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Delhi, to send a factual report within four weeks. (ANI)
