Nepali Congress to hold public meeting next week
Kathmandu, June 2 : The Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to hold a public meeting in Khula Manch, Kathmandu next week.
According to Nepalnews, the meeting has been scheduled for June 8, and will be addressed by the top NC leaders, including the Prime Minister and party president Girija Prasad Koirala, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and acting President Sushil Koirala.
Following the implementation of the republic in Nepal by the Constituent Assembly (CA) last week, the Maoists have stepped up pressure on NC and Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) to hand them the key positions of President and Prime Minister in the next government.
The NC and UML have said they want a division of key positions of the Prime Minister and the President among different parties because no party has bagged a clear electoral mandate. (ANI)
