Napa State therapist yet coming out from attack

Napa-State-HospitalA Napa State Hospital inmate has been taken in custody on grounds of suspicion of attacking an member of staff, less than two months after another inmate allegedly strangled a psychiatric technician there, officials state.

Sean Bouchie, 24, apparently beat a rehabilitation therapist Saturday morning while he was being dragged on the grounds of the 138-acre campus, authorities stated.

George Anderson, the injured therapist, allegedly was not the one escorting Bouchie, authorities claimed. The extent of Anderson's injuries was not elucidated.

Bouchie was taken at Napa County Jail on the basis of pure suspicions on causing seriously bodily injury and at the same time will be paying $100,000 bail, claimed sheriff's Capt. Tracey Stuart.

Bouchie was held in custody in 2007 on suspicion at the same time resisting arrest and misdemeanor battery in Santa Clara County.

"He's not a person to go fighting or anything," she said. "He's not really a person who has a mind. He doesn't know anything about what's going on."

"Napa State Hospital immediately added additional measures for escorting patients about the grounds," hospital spokeswoman Deborah Moore said Monday. "The incident will continue to be investigated by hospital police."
