MSI Suffers 2,400 Unit Production Losses
On Wednesday, the Maruti Suzuki India has notified to roll out its products from its Manesar plant, considering the continued tension between management and workers. "The company brought in 120 ITI-trained workers this morning to the Manesar plant on a contract basis to strengthen the manpower for assembly operations”, notified a company Spokesman.
In addition, sources have claimed that the production at the Manesar plant is completely obstructed from Monday soon after a move directing the workers to signature a good conduct bond before entering the work place, as an attempt to resolve a previous issue.
Consequently, the renowned Company has terminated around 16 permanent workers from their services, on Tuesday, and brought the total number of suspensions to 26. Besides regular employees, the Company has also dismissed its 12 trainees.
The anxiety between the management and the workers has affected the production badly, even on second day and the Company has suffered a significant production loss of not less than 2,400 units, that worth’s Rs 120 crore.
On the other hand, workers have criticized the management and blamed it for taking the revenge of a strike observed in June, hailing to constitute the Maruti Suzuki Employees Union (MSEU) at a plant in Haryana.
