More than 80 percent consider British economy poorAngus Reid Public Opinion said on Monday that a large majority in Britain indicated in a recent poll that the economy was either in poor shape or very poor shape.

The research group has revealed that in the recent poll of 1,976 British adults, 60 percent of respondents said the economy was in poor shape, while an additional 23 percent said it was in very poor shape.

It was also reported that an equal number, 20 percent, said the economy would do better in the next six months as those who said it would do worse in the next two quarters.

While 38 percent said they were concerned that someone in their household would lose a job, about a third of the respondents said they had frequent or occasional concern over their savings.

It was further reported by Angus Reid Public Opinion that the survey, which was conducted on May 21-24, carries a margin of error of 2.2 percentage points. (With Inputs from Agencies)
