M&M rolls out new “Pick-up Bolero MaxiTruck” with fuel saving “Micro Hybrid Technology”The leader in utility vehicle (UV) in India – Mahindra & Mahindra Limited on Tuesday rolled out new ‘Pick-up’ Bolero MaxiTruck, with the micro hybrid technology. While launching the new Pick-up Bolero MaxiTruck in Pune, Mahindra & Mahindra claimed that the UV to be the first of its kind in India.

Sporting the stylish Bolero look, the new Pick-up Bolero MaxiTruck features the revolutionary fuel saving Micro Hybrid technology of Mahindra. Based on simple principle, “not to burn fuel when not required,” the micro hybrid technology helps detecting moments, while the UV is running, when the UV is idle, and stops the engine automatically.

The micro hybrid technology switches off the engine, when the vehicle comes to a complete stop, like a halt at a traffic signal; for instance, if the vehicle is in neutral, when it stops at a traffic signal, the engine of the vehicle shuts down automatically after 5 seconds, and when the signal turns green, driver just need to press the clutch pedal; the engine starts immediately, after the driver presses the clutch pedal. The technology helps saving fuel, cost, and reducing emissions. Mahindra has already used the eco-friendly and innovative technology in Bolera and Scorpio.

The new Pick-up Bolero MaxiTruck is powered by a 2.5-litre engine producing 61bhp. With one-tonne payload coupled with a top speed of 100 km/hr, Bolero MaxiTruck has greater ‘pulling power,’ which makes it capable of carrying heavier loads in a single trip. With reduced turning circle radius of 6.6 m, Bolero MaxiTruck can be easily maneuvered in small spaces.

The new Pick-up Bolero MaxiTruck also features Viscous Fan-drive technology, which helps switching off the fan when engine temperature drops below a pre-set temperature. The UV comes with a new muffler design which helps reducing ‘back-pressure’ dramatically. This helps in lesser fuel consumption and helps improving fuel efficiency.

Additionally, the new Pick-up Bolero MaxiTruck comes with plush fabric seats, greater cabin space, well ventilated cabin that helps reducing driving fatigue, a Bolero-like instrument panel sporting easy-to-read dials, an integrated dashboard, and glove box providing greater utility and storage space. The new Mahindra Pick-up Bolero MaxiTruck is priced at Rs. 3.52 lakh (ex-showroom Pune).
