Washington, Feb 14 : Brit singer M. I. A. has revealed that she is hoping to have her baby on St. Valentine''s Day, after she failed to go into labour at the Grammys.

The pop star had been performing at the Grammy Awards on February 8, along with Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, T. I. and Kanye West, when she started having contractions backstage.

As her fiance Benjamin Brewer was timing her contractions with a stopwatch, M. I. A. said backstage at the Grammys that if the baby was not born then, it might be born on St. Valentine''s Day.

"Maybe if we're not going to have the baby at the Grammys, it could be a week late and come on Valentine's Day. Yeah, you never know," Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

But even after five days the singer's publicists insist that she has not given birth, and that there is "no comment" about the impending birth. (ANI)
