Sydney, Nov.19: Former Australian cricketer Mark Waugh and his racehorse trainer wife Kim are threatening legal action against a neighbour who they say is constantly "harassing" them.

Waugh and his neighbour Geoff Daley are engaged in a daily turf war after Daley objected to the way the famous couple built their lavish home at Mardi, on the Central Coast.

The war of words broke out about a year ago when Waugh, 42, and his wife bought a block of land.

Daley, a retired builder, claims the way the block was then dealt with as the Waughs' home was built was done in the "wrong" way - resulting in an ongoing stream of silt and debris washing onto his opposite property and into his once-clear ponds.

"They did a huge excavation up the top and pushed all the dirt out and just left it there," he said.

According to news.com.au, Kim Waugh admitted that while there had been some problems, made worse by the severe June long-weekend storms, she and her husband had done everything Wyong Council had asked.

She claimed that Daley refused to leave them alone and his ongoing "aggressive" behaviour had forced them to write several letters of complaint to the council and call in their solicitor.

"We don't want to fight with anyone. I can get a dozen people tomorrow to come up and say he's harassed them on our property and I'm talking about landscapers ... way back to (builders) Masterton Homes and the pool people. It's a known joke in the area about what they all went through. It's just been an absolute nightmare,” she said.

"I thought now that (the house) was finished, he might drop off and let it go but he just won't go away."

In August, the Waughs' solicitor Michael Bowe wrote to Daley to say that his constant "harassment" was impeding the Waughs' "enjoyment of life and their property".

Daley has spent the past 12 months gathering what he says is an "arsenal" of photographs and even began sending a diary of daily complaints to council staff.

A Wyong Council spokesman confirmed there had been "some issues" but the Waughs had been asked to tidy them up and the council was "more than satisfied".

"Council has actually inspected the premises 15 times so it's not as if he's been getting any favourable treatment, if that's what this fellow has been alluding," he said. (ANI)
