Maoists do not have mandate to lead the country alone

Kathmandu, June 14 : The Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist-Leninist (CPN-UML) General Secretary Jhalanath Khanal has stated that Maoists did not have people's mandate to lead the country alone, Khanal said that the change is impossible without political consensus on major issues among parties.

He denounced the activities of Maoist youth wing-Young Communist League (YCL) and gave directive to party cadres to retaliate against their excesses.

Inaugurating the seventh Unified Marxist Leninist district convention at Hetauda, Khanal said there would be no political outlet in the country until the Unified Marxist Leninist, the Nepali Congress and the Maoists reached a political consensus.

He further said political parties had left no stone unturned to end the present political impasse through negotiations, Kantipur reported. (ANI)
