Beijing, Jan. 14: The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, met Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu at the China World Hotel here on Tuesday.

The meeting took place ahead of the daylong India-China Economic Summit over which both presided.

Officials present at the meeting said that the two leaders discussed ways to improve both strategic and economic bilateral ties, besides reviewing issues of regional and multilateral importance to both countries.

Apart from the Prime Minister, the other Indian officials present at the meeting were National Security Adviser M. K. Narayanan, the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, T. K. A. Nair, Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon and other dignitaries. The Chinese side also included senior officials. (ANI)
