Mahindra’s US entry depends of lawsuit verdict
There is no denying of the fact that it has been quite a long time since the UV maker M&M has been keen on entering the US market with its pick-up trucks made on the Scorpio platform but the company hasn't been able to do so due to a host of hurdles.
With the latest being the lawsuit filed by its authorised exclusive distributor which has accused the company of missing two deadlines and taking too much time for entering the US market, the company has recently said that its entry will now be dependent on the outcome of the lawsuit.
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) President (Automotive and Farm Equipment) Pawan Goenka recently said that the company is working as per its original schedule to launch its product in the US by December 2010.
While the home-grown auto major has also filed an appeal against the lawsuit, but Global Vehicles (GV) had claimed to have made an overall investment of USD 103.5 million along with the other franchisees that were expected to sell M&M's pick-up truck based on Scorpio platform.
