Mahindra now eyes Sri Lanka
The $7.1 billion Mahindra Group, one of India's leading business houses has now set its eyes on the Sri Lankan market and the company is now eying to launch a slew of automobile products in the Sri Lankan market soon. Group's Vice Chairman and Managing Director Anand Mahindra said that the company is taking the Sri Lankan market very seriously and it will soon be launching products like Maximmo and a host of other models in the market.
Moreover, the tycoon also pointed out the fact that the company was also studying the possibility of introducing an electric car, the Mahindra Reva, in Sri Lanka in future.
It may be noted here that the company has already established a base in Sri Lanka where it has been selling its range of tractors and utility vehicles for over a decade. Moreover, it has sold over 4,000 vehicles in Sri Lanka since its market entry.
In fact, the vice chairman of the company said that the launch of the company's compact truck i. e. the Mahindra Gio had evoked a good response in the Sri Lankan market.
