Larsen and Toubro (L&T), the $8.5 billion technology, engineering and construction group, has secured an order worth Rs 6897 crore order from Maharashtra State Power Generation Co. (Mahagenco) to build three boiler turbine units for an upcoming supercritical power plant of 1,980 MW.

The plant, being built at Koradi, 20 km from Nagpur, is expected to add 50 million units to the national grid.

The scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, commissioning of super-critical boilers and civil and architectural work

Recently, L&T has received an order worth Rs 4000 crore from Jaypee Industries to construct supercritical equipment for a 1320 MW plant.
