LinkedIn begins rollout of revamped member profile pagesOn Tuesday, professional social network LinkedIn commenced the rollout of its revamped member profile pages, which will essentially facilitate the users in highlighting their skills and other job attributes in a much better way.

Revealing that the English-language users will be able to access the site's updated user profile page immediately, LinkedIn said that the rollout of the overhauled page will be completed for all users in the coming months. The company also added alongside that once the users have been upgraded to the redesigned profile page, they will no longer be able to go back to the existing LinkedIn profile design.

With the profile-page redesign marking the latest change which LinkedIn has announced in the hope of generating more user activity on its site, the company has asserted that the revamp will not only help the users make "a powerful first impression," but will also give them an opportunity to "showcase their skills and accomplishments."

Bringing on a notably more streamlined format, along with the ability for quicker editing and addition of profile information, the revamped LinkedIn design also boasts the inclusion of interactive graphics which unfold data pertaining to the people in a member's network.

About the revamped profile page, analyst Susan Etlinger - with San Mateo-based Altimeter Group - said: "What LinkedIn is trying to do is create a way for people to take more control of their professional lives. And more so based on their skills and less so based on where they work."
