Lakshmi Vilas Bank, an Old Generation Private Sector Bank in South India, has tied-up with PayMate India, country's leading mobile commerce company, for offering mobile payment solutions to the banks' customers.

Under the pact, Lakshmi Vilas Bank customers will be able to download a mobile banking application on their GPRS enabled cell phones, which further allow them to carry out their daily banking functions like funds transfer, stop-cheque, balance enquiry, cheque book request etc.

Last week, Payment has tied alliance with Syndicate Bank, one of India's leading nationalized banks, to provide mobile banking solutions to their customers across over 2000 branches.

Till date, Mumbai-based wireless transaction platform provider has tied up with 23 leading banks, under which it provide them its mobile payment services and applications.
